Soon enough, Pepe became the most reposted 4chan meme and it got to the point where all new OC was being slid to page 10 because people were either making or reposting frog pictures which effectively stagnated the community. When /bant/ was created you had a few people who knew they hated Pepe but didn't know exactly why they did so they made shit like Simon and Borche to replace him as OC, but not realizing that in doing so they were setting the path for the same stagnation that frogposting had caused. Luckily they never really caught on.
