If you want to directly enjoy the fruits of your labor, then you want a free and capitalistic society, not one that taxes 50%+ of your income to support some bloated and ineffective government.
And if you want to see a shithole, just look at the Soviet Union, any of the Warsaw Pact states back in the day, or North Korea or Cuba, etc. etc.
You could look at the world statistics since 1970 on the % of people in the world live in extreme poverty and see how it has dropped. It's not communism that did this.
