someone would impersonate an avatar if they don't like them, and want to ruin their reputation. mods have NEVER been consistent in upholding the rules and you'd be stupid to believe otherwise. it's well known that they only ban people who make them butthurt and using the excuse that "they ban inconsistently so that makes it ok" is complete bullshit.
using an avatar and tripfagging or objectively different. while they share some similarities a trip can be used in many more circumstances and for more niche reasons, such as for one thread to help someone. to be recognizable as an avatarfag you as an avatar you have to use it frequently over a long period of time. you're attaching an identifier deliberately and consistently to your posts unlike a trip which can be used once and thrown away
