It's rather hard to break habit when autistic. I'm very well aware. Pragmatism seems to seep in to every corner of one's life, and root you down.
Have you ever tried something I found worked with mine? I tried to get my goals involved with other people's business. I wanted them to know that I was going to do something, and that pressure of judgement, that feeling of knowing others are watching, usually is a good kickstart.
From there, try to work on breaking habit. Tell someone you eat roast beef sandwiches instead of whatever you'd normally have for lunch, and have them be the inspiration of change.
Fear of judgement is a great motivator, is it not? Ever been worried about not completing homework for school? Or dissapointing parents and family? It need not be major incursions of judgement, but once you get into the habit of breaking habit (see what i did there?), then no amount of pragmatism can stop you.
