The best usage of drugs is as a bridge. Use them short term to get somewhere. It has to be combined with lifestyle changes to be effective with the goal of tapering almost immediately.

Ironically if you've taken them for a while, and then manage to get off of them, the hellish amounts of rebound anxiety that you have to go through forces your body to adapt in such a way that you have pretty much superhuman amounts of calm and patience. The only time I could think that this would be a disadvantage is in a scenario where it would be better if you were panicking, rather than thinking rationally.

SSRI stands for serotonin reuptake inhibitor. it blocks the reuptake of serotonin which forces an increase in serotonin production.

acid doesnt inhibit reuptake, but it does bind to serotonin receptors better than serotonin which increases your serotonin levels.

and by the way...

You shouldn't be taking either anti-depressants OR acid.

You should be SOCIALIZING properly and contributing to society, since that is the way you're supposed to increase serotonin levels.

There was maybe a 9 month period of my life where I used Psilocybe quit a bit. I also smoked a lot of weed from 16-25.

My last time with Psilocybe was a wonderful trip and it ended with the distinct feeling that I no longer needed or wanted it anymore. That was it; any desire was purged from me.

I had standard weed defense mechanisms, but a quote by James Campbell always unsettled me: "The mystic is swimming in the same water the psychotic is drowning in". I could pretend I was smoking/consuming weed for positive reasons, but I knew that wasn't entirely true.

I have no regrets about any of that behaviour, although I wouldn't say I am proud of being a chronic stoner during periods of my life. While I sometimes think these experience have some role in who I am today, especially my unique perspective and approach to my work, I know that I was always a bit of an eccentric before all that.

All this is to say that I agree with your comment about drug-use being a bridge and not a long-term thing. Although realistically, drugs are unnecessary and I wouldn't advise people to trip in order to gain a better perspective on life.

I would not recommend 10 000 IU of vitamin D. It probably won't cause hypercalcemia, but stick to a more reasonable 3-5 000 IU a day.

I take vitamin D in the winter but get plenty of sun other times of the year. It's good stuff.

Yeah the recommended dosage is clearly too low, but I play it safe with 5 000 IU/day, not to mention I get outside every day (although in the long winter I'm not getting much sun exposure).

I haven't kept up-to-date with the correlation between MS and vitamin D deficiency, but it's an interesting thought. Everyone should take vitamin D, especially those in northern climates and of course basement dwellers.

In general Vitamin D3 is the source of a ton of health / mental problems. 10,000iu of pills a day should be the norm for everyone. They usually just care about calcium levels and D3 in studies which doesn't even take into account brain effects and hormonal influences. Basically we are all vitamin D3 deficient unless you are outside most of the day or outside an hour+ in summer in the southwest.

I'm pretty sure they've moved away from vitamin D/calcidiol and MS into looking at biotin. Kind of hard to figure out what's going on with vitamin D when most people with MS are middle aged white women in Michigan, and approximately 110% of them are deficient anyway.

The average pill dosage is like 500-1000 iu, and people who take it basically have no effect from it. From what I remember, not looking up the info, they fucked up a calculation really bad on that.

10,000iu pill form is perfectly safe and recommended if you look deep into literature. It's actually conservative. You will also notice the improvement to mood easily.

It's definitely worse than kicking opiates, simply because of the difference in duration, but the one year thing and the 3 months bit is just a baseline average that takes nothing into account other than what it is: averages. For me it was more like 7 months of pure hell (panic attacks, hallucinations, feeling of impending doom, catatonic states of varying degrees, complete social isolation), and now 2 years later I'm finally returning to normality.

But seriously, if anyone in this thread is on benzos, either prescribed or recreational, get off of them. Within the next 5 years there's probably going to be a big blowup where the medical community finally realizes at large just how bad this stuff is, sans for very exceptional cases.

Micro-dosing salvia would just be a smaller dose of leaves, fresh leaves, probably around 3 leaves? I've through about trying it myself though finding fresh leaves is difficult as some states made it illegal. Finding fresh plants is tricky too. Never had it, but from a quick cursory search it sounds like some nasty stuff. Only heard of it used as a sleeping aid. Tried it the other day with some 1P i bought before dar al bongistan outlawed it. I cut a 100ug tab into 6 pieces and took one (also lost one somewhere rip) and I felt great all day, like incredibly high energy but I got the nasty tight chest/achy muscle feeling I get after a trip so I decided I'll probably stick to caffeine for fake energy spurts.

1. tell your doc you don't want to take this all the time and he should be willing to suggest alternatives and alternative doses. Docs who just say eat this and shut up are lazy and don't deserve to be paid.

I should've included in my post that there are a few natural alternatives if you really need it to get through the day. I'd recommend looking into kratom. Look up Krabot LLC, solid company with the best customer service in the business. If you decide to try it, I recommend trying green maeng da first and seeing if that helps with your nerves. Legal in my most of the US and it's legit.

The legality of kratom on the federal level is currently up in the air. A bunch of advocates saved it last year with the FDA saying they'd take a more thorough look into its possible uses in treating pain and opioid dependence (because it actually works).
