Anons who live in fuckheug cities (NYC, Shanghai, Tokyo) what's big city life actually like?
I was raised on the rustbelt in a small city (Erie, PA) and the biggest city I've ever been to was Boston.
Is it actually worth it? I wouldn't care about crime as long as I could be comfy in my small apartment and look out the window and see pic related.

Just the view. I could probably admire the skyline of New York City my whole life.

The best place for you to experience a big city is most likely Toronto. It's close, it's relatively in-expensive. It will give you the feel of an international city with large buildings and many people, but like an easy try out scenario.

City life is about closeness (too close) and noise and excitement.
If you are young I recommend it. It will harden you a little which is good for youth. It is good if you don't have vehicle in city with good transportation. Bus, Subway, taxis. Some places, have no parking, or get lucky have small personal parking spot at apartment.
Boston to me, was a nightmare, some drivers were even worse than here! We have notoriously aggressive drivers.
