He was tall, blonde, blue eyed and had a square jawed, handsome face. He was also relatively fit, despite being in his late 40s. Then I met his mother. I have no idea what she was, but she was short, fat and had a dark complexion. She spoke fluent Norwegian, though, and there's no way she was an immigrant. My best guess is that she's a "tater", which is a Norwegian term for gypsies who came here in the 1500s.
Out of politeness, I've never asked him about it, but the whole experience was kinda weird.
