strangely enough, last time i asked for help from some friends from Alkmaar (just simple omdat setences!), she said that they made a lot of really basic mistakes and probably spreak on a 5th grader level
it's really weird to me because Russia is so big and has so many people but the language itself is absolutely identical and there is little to no difference, maybe a slight accent, between them
here, on the other hand, each 100 km you travel in any direction, it's like a new language
and Frisian "not dialect" blows my mind as well
why is it so, i always wondered? i would expect historically Dutch to be a very changing and alive ogranism, but not so branched out, you know

Dutch people are really nice as well and are always a pleasure to talk to, as far as i encountered, but it bugs me out you guys don't seem to be very tactile people, i'm so used to brohugs and high fives all the time, you know
also, you seem to be so open on the outside, but so closed and distanced when your relationship develops
boggles my mind, maybe there's something wrong with me
