I lived here for 1 year. Beautiful people, slightly autistic though but no so much as Krauts. Somalis tried to mug my twice, a nigger stole my bike and a paki burgled my flat. The police were based though and really helpful in my experience. Had a great time though

Small talk is pretty common in Germany, not as much as in France or Italy, but still.
Many germans are scared of making mistakes/hate doing mistakes, so they prbly won't talk alot when speaking english.

Unlike Scandinavians or other people from small countries, we don't really need english everyday. Every book, movie and even those shitty american sitcoms get dubbed in german.
We learn english at school, 2-3h/week, thats it.

Went to Rotterdam for like 12 hours, went to Alkmaar to an asylum seeker detention centre for a day (I was studying migration law, it wasn't my choice). Went somewhere with loads of windmills and to the beach. That was about it though
