I'm back again after a month straight working on projects locked away like one of those insane artisans from dwarf fortress.

Yeah i forgot about it because of no replies, I was doing stuff for uni making a game but now I'm working on my own for fun. Space wester shooter with mirrors edge/dark messiah -esque mechanics.

Well do you ride to get fit or for fun? Or both? Go harder if it won't damage your health i say. And nothing wrong with getting swoller nor practicing your mechanic skills. Does this crank have higher or lower ratio than your current? You could always keep both and change them out whenever you feel.

Fitness is fun but this would go on my randonneuring bike because it's a 46/34, so decently lower than what I've got now. The shortest rides are 200 km, mashing up a hill after 7 or 8 hours of decent paced riding isn't the most pleasant experience. I live in the foothills of the Appalachians and there's some brevets up there, I think I would just build a spare rear wheel with a wider cassette for those rides.

Some namefags that were banned from s4s decided to come here. And as for the /pol/ posting is due to the fact that communist larpers decided to make repeated threads about "/bant/ being a communist board" And some polanon decide he'd want to join hezbollah so his been making "/bant/ is anti-imperialist boad" It's mostly the same old story of a shitposter that got banned from a his containment board and decide to come here. Also lot's of gayposting. But I don't want to derail your thread since this is good thread so how do I achieve the same zen state mind that you described in the OP.

Woah man that's awesome, I've only over done distances on terrain like that on foot over a few days. I'd be mindful of the change your making bc making it easier to ride up hills will make the average riding a little harder.

Thanks for elaborating man, it makes sense now. Honestly in order to feel better it's a long road; start by giving yourself ever increasing goals with each day, make friends (discord friends work too) and most importantly try to be quietly mindful about literally everything. Being kind for the sake of it helps too.

Mindfulness is the act of figuring out your own thoughts. This entails reasoning with yourself about ideas and constructing what i guess would be statements on each. It really helps you break out of the depressive cycles that our modern world is conducive to.

I'll give you homework if you want, think to yourself about the nature of life and death; the aim here is to find a reason you'd be okay with dying in your old age and why making someone else's life tangibly worse at no benefit to anyone is one of the worst things we can do.

Good luck anon, it'll take a very long time but just keep at it until you have a little paragraph of thoughts on most things you can percieve or contemplate.

Great advice, I've heard meditation sort of helps too any thoughts on that? Don't really have that much trouble on friends so I'm good there. But you know what they say "Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step". Yeah that quote makes sense, it sort of comes naturally because people adapt to take the route of least resistance. Meditation is a kind of broad stroke term for a lot of things pertaining to repetitive tasks that strengthen the mind. So mindfulness or even that ameribro's off road slogs from earlier in the thread could be considered meditation. Breathing excersise meditation is always good but personally i don't have time for it and get distracted easily bc of ADD. Breathing excersises focus on getting your mind to stand still and think of as little as possible while you steadily take long inhales, holds before/after and exhales in a comfortable position. Quite a few people do it because it can act like a computer reset and it releases mad endorphins calming and making you happy. Unless you keep this up though you won't be able to maintain the feeling of being at peace with the world. There's an extremely large difference between being at peace with the world and feeling like you are. Some of the shittest people I've met regularly do yoga while some of the best souls I've encountered would rather engage in a long conversation with a beer.

Meditation is good for feeling, thinking is better for outlook. Balance the two in any form to your preference.

Oh also would you guys mind if i just came back every now and then for one of these threads? We need to get bant back on track imo. I liked how we used to just talk about stuff that we experienced or thought and how it'd vary between each country.

I've been sleeping all day and staying awake all night, usually just browsing 4chan and getting drunk. I'm pretty sure I'll get kicked out of uni soon, I haven't showed up in weeks. Maybe uni isn't for you. You don't have a stake. Try changing courses to something you enjoy even if it is himalayan basket weaving or something.

If you're struggling in uni get diagnosed with depression or anxiety- you can restart whatever you've failed at no cost to you and you'll easily get tons of extra time when you need it. Even if everything goes wrong please never kill yourself because the nothingness isn't ever worth it and you can only ever grow as a person.
