Every single one of them questions their own beliefs sometimes, theists question if there really isn't a God, and sometimes atheists will question if there might actually be a God or higher existence. Someone believing in the same thing without considering anything else in their entire life, is insanity. Someone who questions their own sanity and preconceived beliefs from time to time, is quite sane in my opinion.
I am quite different. I was raised in a theist and religious environment. I began to question it at some point, and became an atheist even. I believed humans were a product of factors that could be explained by science, and that most religions in the world held a too limited view of themselves. Until.... I started having freaky dreams. Like full on psychic shit even in some of them. They bothered the hell out of me. They started becoming too accurate to be explained by modern science alone, or even religions for that matter. They made me once again question my beliefs, this time in both other religions, theists, and atheists alike. So I find comfort in trying to combine certain aspects of theism and some religious texts with science. No amount of debating in beliefs will prepare you for having a dream about someone dying in a certain way, only to have it happen exactly as you dreamed , and to have it happen a certain amount of time after that dream. Same with a plane crash in my area. Same with a fatal car accident that happened on my street. It goes on. Though I don't want it to. I have merely come to the belief that some things will always be unexplained by both science and religions, theists and atheists alike.
