you see most of measurements, things like tablespoons and teaspoons are based on every day uses of certain items (like spoons), while obviously metric is based on the 10 baseline. this means that imperial units are seemingly random vs. the relation to the metric system. in effect, the imperial measurements are based on practical everyday tasks (like cooking) while metric which is based on an abstract concept is suited towards things like science. are you with me so far? say yes or no on whether you understand, i'm going to go by this step by step
