There is no way that a dinosaur would evolve into something shitty. That's not how evolution is supposed to work. You evolve into a bigger, more powerful version of your previous form.
Obviously the bible got some stuff wrong. The dinosaurs were basically biological terraforming machines, who were used to prepare the earth for us while we chilled in the garden of eden.
Once that task was complete God let us out into the world, and transformed the dinosaurs into birds, so that we wouldn't get eaten.
