If I want to stream netflix and youtube or play CSGO with a ping of 1, why shouldn't I pay a premium to get a better service.
The way you argue basically proves OPs point that you are buying into all of this "You want X, oh well too bad that will cost you Y, and it will be at an unobtainable price". Realistically most ISPs could care less about what you view, so long as you don't stop buying from them, thankfully most ISPs have at least one competitor in most places.
As for the fast lane thing, unless you are sending large amounts of data, (Large Social Media Sites, Streaming, Gaming, and Video Chat) you already are going to be paying alot just to keep up with server costs anyway. I doubt most startups would even have the traffic to even need to worry about getting a "fast lane".
