Most of the Old Testament is complete bullshit, the creation myth, the flood, etc., they may be attempts to explain the world or a certain event, but taking it for the truth is insane.

Our moral standards are merely there because they provide efficiency and secure the survival of the human race, but they're not the only way to handle it.
Sure, going on a killing spree may be seen by some as objectively wrong, but in a scenario where earth is hopelessly overpopulated, (We're getting there) killing a few dozen people could be seen as a noble act, speeding up natural selection, reducing the number of mouths to feed and giving those who die a quick and (hopefully) painless death.
Of course that is hypothetical, but it is possible and a prime example for situational morality.
I do not like utilitarianism, but I also reject Kantianism, one may be applicable in on situation, the other in a different one, it is all relative to the context.
Morality is there to ensure human survival, so whichever action does exactly that in a proportional way is moral, even if it is killing someone.
