Probably the best example of a nation where the demographics of religion are split down the middle. About half Christian/ half Muslim. Somehow they have managed to put genocide behind them and create one of the most liberal nations in the middle east. There political system is weird. No party of an entirely singular religion is allowed to hold a majority in parliament. So they have to work together regardless of religious ideals to achieve a ruling party. It's the only electoral system in the world designed to minimise the chance of genocide. That said, it is not the best place to live. Ethic tension is a real threat and the future is uncertain. Overall I am interested in Lebanon. Not enamoured. But curious
