>he was an alcoholic for the last 10-15 years so he was a bit disconnected from the rest of the family
>Me and my dad start talking about him one night
>he goes through several stories about how he was before his addiction
>he starts telling me about a time he was in the farmers market in the late 60s
>before shit hit the fan around here
>apparently Brian was with 'Slab Murphy', a man who would go on to become the chief of staff of the troubles era IRA
>Brian was an avid reader at the time, the whiskey hadn't got to him yet
>At the time he was reading a book on Che Guevara and all that guerrilla warfare stuff
>This book peaked Slab's interest as he was a simple farmer and had no clue who Che was
>Brian, being the kind gentleman as he was slid Slab the book and went on with his day from there
