>>3267083Store completely non perishable food, rice and honey, for long term. Canned goods for short term, get water purification kits, a life straw can last a year, but keep in mind they won't filter out radiation or nuclear fallout. Get some warm clothes, sun glasses if nukes are still going off they can actually cause permanent vision loss, and basic masks that filter particles in the air if you already live near a potential major nuclear target, for ex there are more than 2000 strategic nuclear targets in the US. Weapons are good, but remember you will run out of ammo for guns eventually, have a back up ranged weapon that is easy to make ammo for, like a bow or crossbow, with tons of back up strings and arrow heads. Tools are more important than ppl think in an apocalypse, preferably non power tools. Have a bug out plan and shelter in the most isolated place you can, but it needs to be near natural resources preferably. Although despite all this, if even half of the US's nukes detonated above ground, the fallout would wrap around the world within a year and create a nuclear winter scenario. If all the US's and Russia's nukes detonated in a war scenario, those two nations would look like fallout new Vegas, and the rest of the world would enter nuclear winter, but be able to recover in a century or two.
