Mechanical engineers go through a crap ton of varied courses, rather than a specific course plan like other sciences. For me I chose to take general college physics, PHY 181 in my college, it is like the equivalent of gen chem, throws you around a lot of concepts, equations and principles in the wider field. Like I covered quantum theory twice, once in chem, then a more detailed in depth coverage in phy 181. I also have statistics, dynamics, differential equations, organic chem, and 5 different calculus classes to cover just to name a few. Some mech eng majors end up taking different courses to end up at the same degree, there is that much variation in this field.
