Nothing good has come upon us ever since that was put into place.
QoS level agreements will keep everything in check (ISPs won't slow down Internet to certain websites for example) and they will have more investment capital to play with, which should make premiums cheaper in the coming years. They will also be able to have more control over illegal content that is passed through their networks.
And if they do fuck up and piss everyone off somehow? Consumers will take their business elsewhere and demand will be created for new companies to be founded that fulfill the needs of the consumers.
