Truly everything about Star Wars is garbage. If it had remained one or two under-the-radar movies;fine. But the fact that everyone grafts their hopes and dreams onto one of the most banal unrevelatory stories in human history shows how empty we are

there are some dumb subplots and the start is kinda slow but the end was good
also a decent amount of twists most wouldnt expect

The product they sell IS the ends, the film is the means. That "story" you love so much is just a really long commercial, and you can say "it's entertaining" but it misses the point: it's the best functioning commercial of all time because people celebrate it's airing and rush to buy whatever it sells. The story is obviously secondary so if story is why you're interested in (not joking here) read a book, they're great

If people were flocking to any other soulless time/culture/identity consuming ritual cult practices and then giving it all their money no one would care if it was fun or entertaining, so we shouldn't ignore the effects of this trash just because everyone plays with light sabers as a kid

Books are infinitely better because you are forced to understand them on a deeper level because you have to read it so it better have something to say

Movies these days are just flashing lights and whooshing sounds to ramp up your adrenaline as they show you all the neat new characters that you can have in plushform for only 19.99
It's fucking sick, just my opinion
