>>3313466>I guess the danger when compared to pre 15 is you have much more aggresive libtard lobbying nowwhich is a huge part of the argument as to why to supporting dropping it. The idea, more or less, is to sort of balkanize control of the internet, rather then let control of it be centralized all in one place, in this case, the feds.
The next step will be to break up the ISP monopolies, which if you'll notice, is something those in support of NN are very much so against (the breakup of them that is. not a one of them likes it when someone brings up the TWC/AT&T merger)
>>3313474Net Neutrality in its current and proposed form did not exist until 2015, what we did have were a number of pre-existing federal regulations that, for one were not entirely neutral, and for two covered far more then just the internet (such as acts to control obscenity in media)
And as I have brought up many times in these sort of threads, the FCC completely fucked up the handling of radio (and before some retard spergs out about how "hurr durr radio is a dead media), wifi is radio you absolute mongs. you know who you are.), and the FCC can not be trusted not to do the same with the internet, partcularly given that they were LOBBIED by LIBERAL ORGANIZATIONS to SHUT DOWN SMALL TIME AND AMATEUR STATIONS
think of the internet now
now think of the FCC being in control of it
and now think of some big company, such as google, or hell even CNN with their parent companies, lobbying the FCC to have x website blocked in the USA
that's what we would be facing.
instead, we're just faced with the admittedly no less daunting task of breaking up ISP monopolies, rather then content provider ones.
