Is it right to say «press conference by x», where x is the person that gives the conference? What's the best and the most correct way to say it in English?

Yeah, I understand it now. I saw "press" and thought of buttons on a phone. My bad.
Is that instance, you use the verb "to hold." The president holds a press conference. It's not a physical object that one holds, but we use it as an abstract concept
