I didn't take math past highschool.
Here Q is equal to -1*(X^2) right? So you'd rearrange the equation and get
X^2 = -1*(X^2)
Meaning X could be anything right

I thought you use logarithms to perform the inverse operation of exponents. So X^2 can be broken by using log, but this only would work if you didn't know the value of X. If you knew the value of X you could just use square roots I believe.

no, the log(x^2) is 2log(x)

You use the log function to get an unknown exponent with a known base, so if the question were 2^x = -Q, you would use log(2^x) = log(-Q)
xlog(2) = log(-Q)
x = log(-Q) / log(2)

alright i'll give you that log0 isnt defined, but have you ever heard about eulers identity?
quick rundown:
e^iπ=-1
∴ln(-1)=iπ
not only can you define iT for negatives but you can even defIne log for complex numbers as well

Of course it does, in that solution you gave for example the answer is gonna end up in the complex field if Q is a positive real and it wouldn't be valid if Q were zero.

the solution is still valid even if Q is complex, you just end up with a complex x. Also if it were 0 it'll still be valid because +0 is the same as -0

Yes, that is ok under the complex field with the usual operation for addition and multiplication but you can always define a weird operation with the + and * that might fuck that up.
