To import things, or to buy a PC off the shelf?

For off-the-self, basically everything is between 100-200% higher here than it would be in the U.S. (as a reference point). Then you factor in the tax, haha.

As an example, a $150 USD GPU will often be $300 here once you factor in tax.

PC's are pretty cheap in the US both assembled or purchased from parts. On the flip side though, if you want to get a really good one, like max spec, you might have to pay over $1000, even if just getting it from parts. Mine was purchased assembled and it has 8gb RAM and 1tb hard-drive memory and a 2.7ghz 4 core processor for $450, with a monitor.

That's pretty much the same as here, but we have a 13500 ISK (~135 USD) cap on "gifts" and the customs people (Tollstjóri) have went full on austismo-mode the past few years on opening "gifts" to check the value of them.

Pop is actually a bit lower than that, ~335,000 per the last census.

We actually don't have that big of a worker-importation scheme going on. I mean sure there are some (lots of Poles), but the trade unions are CRAZY powerful here, so even manual labor jobs are super, super regulated with negotiated pay agreements, etc.

If you liked Dear Esther you'll probably like EGttR even more. It's hard to say much about Chinese Room's games without spoiling them. I will say that the story in this was a mixed bag for me. The two main characters were VERY unlikeable for me, but some of the side characters were *exceptionally* well-written. It's definitely worth playing though.
