>>3357012Just making the distinction known and how, when taking campaign finance into consideration, it is a binary choice between 2 parties regardless of the number of "other" parties running for a seat. If you don't vote for one of the 2, you waste your vote.
A good example of this is the recent Georgia Senate election. The Republican candidate (which was not supported by the majority of the party) lost by a margin about equal to the number of "write-in" ballots (people can use that option to put down whoever). Writing in was encouraged by the establishment republicans an option.
Not to turn this into a debate on the candidates, but it did show how trying to go with a 3rd option is a waste.
