Sugar is added to bread dough to speed up the yeast. If you've ever actually made bread you would know this. The yeast can act off the starch in the flour alone but sugar just works way the fuck faster. (I normally use honey though because why the fuck not). Corn syrup is obviously cheaper in the US but it's still 50/50 Glucose/Fructose ratio which is exactly the same as table sugar. The reason you're such a fucking pathetic McFat is because you eat too much. The flour in the bread is 100% glucose (which is why bread has a higher glycemic index than sugar).
So adding sugar to the dough actually makes the bread less "Sugary" (since glucose is the choice sugar of the human body and fructose gets converted into glucose by the liver causing a delay in it's contribution to blood sugar levels).

Which is fine with say bean starch because it takes your body a while to break it down (which is one of the reasons beans make you gassy). But the starch that is in wheat flour has a very weak bond and breaks down very quickly. Bread is fucking awful for blood sugar levels. It's literally more sugary than sugar. Thanks. I stopped eating anything with ingredients I couldn't read or understand years ago. I have a bunch of honey, and organic cane sugar, so maybe I'll try some different ideas. I do miss eating good bread. Its sad that our food is basically poison. And most people don't even seem to care. I don't know what's worse.

Not sure about details on that one, I only use east when I bake, but I am 100% sure some bakeries here have honey culture instead of yeast.
