The anti austerity "uprisings" were hundreds of thousands of people simply gathering in a square and yelling silly slogans, if like 5 of them had the balls to march into the parliament history might had been different. At least it proved once again how fake "democracy" is in the western world

Anyway we're looking at this from different POVs. You're looking at Communism as a form of goverment where the state simply fully controls the capital. I see it as a form of goverment which tries to destroy the need for capital by enacting social policies.
Practically what happened IRL was capital being transferred from the bourgeois to a "communist" party oligarchy with no intent of giving it away.
So yah if you look at it in a scale of "goverment influence/existance" then communism is in no way a middle stage
