I was on KDE for a few years but after a recent update it got very unstable and buggy so I switched to gnome it's actually good.

I hope it keeps running smoothly for the foreseeable future. A lot of the KDE programs like dolphin and okular are incredible but I've never managed to get them integrated well to other desktops. Gnome's default applications seem really "fisher-pricey" after using KDE for so long.

No, they are good except may be open file dialog which doesn't show webm preview and I have no idea how to make it work. but on KDE file dialog in google chrome was saving all images as *.bin that really pissed me off.

It's not heavy fully loaded system with DE takes only ~1GB RAM considering all modern PC have 16+ GB and mine too.
