No, that's just the kind of people that go out and actually buy palm trees for eating. 95% percent of Floridians never have and never want to eat that shit, but one very small group does it just to act like they have something to prove.
Because there's so many tourists and immigrants, some feel the need to prove that they're 100% raised from palm fronds and key-lime authentic Florida. It's weird.
