>(usually painful) specialized langs>>354011 is somewhat right.I heard stuff about R for statistic stuff but I don't know R.
>no i want the real thing!: more general language aka i can't actually code lol just import everythingFor this, language details are a meme, code libraries are the most important factor. Considering you don't want to get too deep, Python probably has the largest amount of code already written for it. It's also increasingly used in by people in fields not directly related to computers cause frankly it's programming on easymodo.
>i want to really learn computers with all the autistic details (not really necessary for someone who is not interested)C. Also enough asm knowledge to have at least a slight idea of wtf is going on when debugging. Of course at that level, you should understand that obsessing over and "choosing" languages is a meme. You need to learn programming and computing concepts. After that point, learning language is a one week thing and not the focus.
Also just get an Arduino or or Raspberry Pi or something and simply start making LEDs blink then go from there.
>my hot opinion as a linuxfagWhat most people think they need full fledged programming for can be usually done simply with a Unix shell and the programs for it. It's a powerful tool (and a life style).
>>354011>be software designer>choose python as a scripting language for the programWHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW
>inb4 it's too slow ;_;Realistically, I would chose Lua for light stuff. Python for big plug-in stuff maybe.
