Second of all: maybe he just did the one thing a lot of other folks didn´t - which was to speak to her, or ask her out.
You´d be amazed at how many beautiful women have this precise issue: that men are too scared to do anything around them. So out of frustration, they go for the first guy who´s got the guts to "step in", and sometimes, it´s an average or below-average looking motherfucker like - yes, the guy in pic related.
I´ve been with nearly 20 different women in my life (not counting the ones whom I only made out with) and I had the feeling that this was a very frequent and underestimated fact.
Not to say that I´m ugly: I think I´m far from it, which my gf will attest, but you get the point.
Also, this fact is not a RULE. So never forget that neither life nor nature owes us anything, and if we feel that we are being robbed of what "should be ours", then it might be a good time to reconsider your resources (looks, position, etc.) and see to improve where there is place for improvement. This doesn´t mean you should become pussy whipped or anyone´s servant, but understand that above all else - there is an instinctive thing playing along in the female decision process when it comes to mates. And sometimes, the male´s courage will suffice to tip the scales (i.e. implication of general courage>therefore ability to protect wife, family, etc...).
