I actually did a fair amount of research before picking my major. Here’s the main bullet points:

>Art and social science degrees get you no job.
>Physics gets you a nice high paying job that is completely unrelated to physics.
>Math either gets you a job as a teacher or an actuary, and I honestly don’t know which is worse.
>CompSci doesn’t get you anything you couldn’t get without some IT certifications, self-teaching initiative and experience.
>Computer/software Engineering gets you jobs that you’ll lose to any physics or electrical engineering grad that wants them.

Bottom line, unless you want to go into medicine or law, the only degrees that are worth the time are electrical or mechanical engineering. Or civil, if you want to enable easy mode.

I think he would just get expelled. What might be funny though is if he majors in women's studies/social justice studies/whatever they call it now and then write a book on how these things destroy civilizations etc. because then he would be 'credentialed'. I’m a second year electrical engineering major in a very liberal city, and my classes are utter sausage fests. I believe there were only three women in my circuit analysis class last term, out of 40 total students.

Pretty much after the 100 level classes, they all start dropping out or switching majors. Shit’s hard, and most girls can’t handle it.

Being an engineering undergrad makes you feel the most thrill ever. You are absolutely correct that suicide is 110% in our thoughts but that is the thrilling part about it, the lack of sleep too. It's like you are Brendan Fraser, but less JUST.

Outside of biology there are absolutely no chicks in STEM. They shill for more but once they do the first few intro classes they see how hard the shit is, which for me isn't hard considering I hate writing so shit like engineering or cs is a breeze in the park for people who hate writing.

Art. Civil engineers are the ones who inspect their designs to see if they are even physically possible. Architects have minimal math and physics knowledge.

yeah... i used to date a girl whose dad helped design several of the international airports in the US. He's become WAY more successful since becoming a financial advisor, which has a far lower barrier to entry than architecture.
Unrelated to the thread but I watched a History Channel "documentary" on the Denver airport conspiracy theories with them one time and he debunked every single one of the "theories" with actual facts about the decisions they made. That was pretty fuckin' fun.
