By watching anime instead of western productions it shields you from the underlying values of most modern movies and tv series: depression, nihilism, lone wolf mentality and leftist societary values like hedonism, promiscuity in women and lack of personal responsibility.
Did you ever see an anime protagonist not taking action, having nothing to fight for or not caring about their friends? Did you ever see anime women that weren't loving, caring and supportive? Yeah, me neither.
