ibn khaldun(the Tunisian arabic historiographer) says in his kitab al ibar (book of Lessons)

the arabs ate camels and inherited from them edurance and vigor,
the turks ate horses and inherited from them strength and fury,
the zinj (eastern africans) have eaten monkeys and inherited from them livelihood
and so the franks ate pigs and inherited from them cuckoldry and softness
