They like the warmth of your body because they are cold blooded creatures so they will like to stay with you if you let them out of their cage. They also like to lick you, but that's how they smell and sense temperature I think.
They obviously should not be let out of their cage to free roam though. You are supposed to handle them, and they usually get stressed in large, open environments.
