what does your country teach in history classes, anon? in the us i learned the revolution and civil war plus a year learning about my state's (kentucky) history.

Australian history since James Cook, the two world wars (mainly Gallipoli), Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt and in year 12 I learnt about the Russian and American Revolutions.

oh yeah, totally forgot those. i think we kinda skimmed over them, basically just learned that the nazis were bad and the allies were good and called it a day. civil war and revolution were the main emphasis that i remember

You're uneducated. School quality varies greatly dependent on the economic standing of counties/cities/towns. I've never met a person in the PNW who learned Brazilian history in primary/secondary school.

We learned about the beginning of ww1, it's events, the treaty that ended it. Same stuff with ww2. The cold war, it's events the division of Germany and the eventual bringing down of the wall. The Korean war, the Vietnam war. The great depression. Pretty much anything important that happened in the 20th century.
