start with Seal Has A Ball. The most redpilled children's book out there. Write a book report. A simple summary covering "who what when where why how".
Read 4 more childrens books and repeat. That's level 1, the tutorial.
Tier two is when you start getting into third grade shit. Captain underpants, diary of a wimpy kid, Willy Wonka, The BFG, Maniac Macgee. Some classics there for that reading level. If you encounter a word you don't understand, write it down and google it, then write down the meaning. When you make your book report, list the words you struggled with and their meanings. I'd say you only have to read about 5 T2 books.
Tier 3 is when things start getting verbose. Grades 4-8, big bracket, big books. Pick a religious book to be your overall goal for this tier. Could be the bible, the Qu'ran, any of the hindu books. Simply put, mythology and storytelling are building blocks of culture. They convey morals and concepts. Along with your religious book, this is where you start reading book series and studying plays if you like them. I suggest Hardy Boys, Discworld, Prydain Chronicles. This is when your book reports evolve. Now on top of the other shit you begin to tackle, "What did they mean by this?" Sorry I can't really suggest any sci fi for that level. I dunno what's good from what isn't.
Oh, and I think Wikipedia is a good place to find general information about mythology for example. If something interests you, do further reading on it.
