>>3708772The US survived the Cold War (more difficult than the challenges we face today), back in the 1980s the Soviet Union had more than 280 million people (more than the US at the time), and the USSR had the 2nd most powerful economy on Earth and had 30,000 nukes pointed at us. After WW2 the USA and the USSR became the sole world powers in the world, the UK fell into debt and lost its largest colonies by the 60s-80s, leaving only the US and the USSR as the only world powers for the rest of the 20th century (now you just watch us as if it's a sport now).
Then the USSR went a broke up almost 30 years ago, leaving just the US as the supreme and only world super power left right now, leaving us to do whatever the fuck we want anywhere in the world practically (within reason). Many tens of millions of people immigrated to the US in the last 50 years, which further consolidated our power, and this is still going on. Our money, population, and our hard power (military-industrial-technology complex) is only going up. What is going down is our influence on the world (soft power) and our former ironclad trust we instilled in our allies. China is still several decades away from even getting close to us GDP-wise. For the last 30 years we have been the sole colossus in not just the west but the world, and have been tyrants ourselves just like the USSR was. If we finally get another super power enemy we can finally refocus our attention on that, rather than fucking around with other bitch countries across the world. The British Empire and Roman Empire both had a super power status for over 400 years during their reigns. We are only on 100 years of being a super power right now, and our power still grows, whether the world likes us or not is irrelevant to this, I think we will finally get our new super power enemy in the 21st century which will only work to unite us and help refocus our attention nationally.
