That costs way too much, bunkers would be cheaper for that island. I simply chose the eastern part of isla hoste because it's quite large and seems to have more resources with less chaotic weather and the cold would probably be easier to handle

In my opinion it would be a good way of doing things. I think the best option for a government to be involved is one that is almost exclusively there to protect the rights of the people from the other citizens and to protect the nation from foreign invasion. Otherwise, it's not only inefficient, but probably not a good idea.

On a small scale the government can get away with a good chunk more, though, honestly. So don't worry too deeply.

Well, we will definitely need to use government power to establish things. Then we can use capitalism to sustain them from then on out. I'm not so sure about full blow socialism because it's part of Marxists theory that socialism will result in a gradually smaller government as people simply become ingrained with the idea, but if history is to be trusted, the opposite always happens.
