It's not always cold but I have a friend in the Philippines and his coldest day of the year was something like 24C and that's a pretty hot summer day for us. Flips would die on a -30C winter day.

Depends on your definition of cold. It's usually around 20-30°C where I live during the hottest part of the year but it can drop as drastically as -20°C.
