>EvangelionYou probably know about it but anyway. Highly autistic teens fight monsters with giant robots. Shitloads of character development and mindfuckery and a good share of action. Plus online waifu wars. Definitely a must watch
>Shinsekai YoriPost-apocalyptic setting but in a kinda "primitive" world (i.e. no cyberpunk, just small villages and such) where magic exists. Excellent character development, it follows a group of friends from childhood to adulthood as they discover dark shit from their world. Good female MC which is something hard to find
>Speed GrapherA photographer gets the power to blow shit up with his camera. Endless action and fairly well developed main characters (the bad guys are pretty cliched though). Animation is not the best though
>Seirei no MoribitoBest female MC ever (gif very related) is given the mission to protect a prince from the bad guys who want to kill him. Feudal Japan setting, excellent character development and very good animation. Very recommended
>ClaymoreBadass half-monster girls with swords fight other monsters. Good characters and plot and no fanservice, which is quite rare considering most "girls with swords" shows are just a cheap excuse for fanservice.
>FLCLAbsolute randomness. There's no accurate way to describe it since it literally consists of six episodes of wonderfully animated random shit paired with a bretty good OST. Lots of action. Also second and third season expected to air this year, hope they don't ruin it.
>KurozukaGuy falls in love with a weird vampire grill and gets into deep shit. Shitloads of action and blood, very enjoyable and well animated fights.
