My experience with middle school was weird. I never fit in, but I was big and people were generally alright, so I was basically just brought along for every ride and confused the whole time, not getting any jokes and getting frustrated.

I went into my shell and basically never spoke to anyone for a while. I had a hanful of friends (like 6 overall for the entirety of middle+high school) but eventually I did open up. Strangely and paradoxically, once I started speaking more, I became less popular, and even lost a bunch of my friends, most of them mad at me and never telling me why. Ruined me emotionally, but I'm doing better now. Actually going to marry a girl who I had some classes with, incidentally. Was planning on killing myself before me and her got together tho tbqh
