If you ask me people should be able to give consent as soon as they are sexually mature, and have pedophilia cases judged on a case by case basis.
But, waiting for her even past her prime would take dedication. That's closer to what we normally use the word, love to describe. I think the greek word for that would be filia. As opposed to Eros, which is a sexual love based on appearances and sensory immersion. That wanes relatively quickly.
My theory is that the reason the divorce rate is so high these days is because people let the Eros take control, and get married when it's at it's peak. After the first ~2-5 years though, it starts to decrease drastically. Keep in mind all of this is anecdotal by the way. They get "bored" of each other, and even though they genuinely do care about each other, the eros phase has already ended and so they can't realistically be lovey dovey anymore. Ironically this is also why the "take a break" thing seems to work so well (despite being degenerate as fuck. Might as well not get married if you can't commit enough to stay with the ship).
