>>3790950They are descendants of Roman citizens of the Balkans in general. How much actually Dacian is in there is completely up in the air since there is no evidence to suggest any of that. But that's irrelevant to the argument.
The point is that before Hungarians colonized it, Wallachia was under Cuman/Pecheneg/Mongol rule. It was under the Hungarian Basar-ab that Wallachia was first consolidated into a legitimate Romanian territory.
I'm not shitting on Romanians, mind you. Just fascinated
>>3790951>sometimes a vassal is forced to use symbolsHe broke away, remember. If he hated Hungarians why would he marry his son to a Hungarian noble woman, and keep Hungarian symbolism in his heradlty? Did America keep the Cross of St. George? Did Hungarians adopt the Austrian Eagle? Doesn't make sense for Besarab to have that coat of arms if he did not have Hungarian roots AND fought against them at the same time.
>cumans had lot more time Than who? Slovaks? Rusyns? I don't think so mate.
>KovacsHow sure are you that that is slavic?
The root Kov is Hungarian. And the sufix acs. thats also found in Hungarian words like Tak-acs, Szak-acs, etc. I speak fluent Slovak and the -acs suffix is non existent, yet the last name Kovacs persists.
