>>3794720>>3794748>>3794760Beware of accelerationists.
If you TRUST your genes or memes to a machine, the machine will co-opt them. The primary purpose of reproduction of genes or memes will have been eliminated.
(Frank Herbert may have been highly biased, but I believe there were bits of wisdom in his books. DO NOT let machines perform the actions of humans. Do not let them think as well as we do, and do not let them handle our genetic procreation and fundamental initial memetic imprinting.)
You know NOTHING of what it takes to create life!
The common scientific understanding of what this involves only recently discovered epigenetics and that a majority of our biological material is cooperative bacteria and such, and a majority of our neurons are in our gut, interacting with those bacteria*. Imagine if the majority of the species switched to a new method of reproduction that just GUTS (put intended) what makes us who we are? What if we didn't realize this in time to correct it?
*: there's a possible link between gut flora and autism. THEY'RE TURNING THE FROGS GAY.
>>3794774Truth. We can't settle. It doesn't matter if we've already lost, because until you're powerful enough to know that with certainty, you're just buying into propaganda. You have no choice.
If you think taking the easy way out will lead to some evolved, enlightened uber-human species, you're a fool.
Unfortunately the reality around us will not sustain a state of mind capable of fighting this. We're scrabbling to harvest the scraps of our heritage. Into the belly of the dragon to save our dead father. The myth is real!
