>>3799176It's not like the US where you generally fill out a form per gun. No NCIS type system, either. You fill one form once forever, and do a two-day safety course one time.
Compare it to a driver's license that is generally forced driver's ed at a private place that'll take like a year and cost hundreds of bucks on top of usual paperwork.
Also, guns come in three flavors: Non-Restricted, Restricted, and Prohibited. Prohibs are common sense even an american can figure out what and why -- explosive rounds, full autos, etc. Things that even americans can't really get. Then are Restricted, which is basically pistols and shorter rifles, and rifles deemed too easy to modify to Prohibited status (ARs, AKs, cheaper 80s subguns like the Tec-9, etc). These are harder to find just for market reasons but are fairly trivial to acquire if you have the license. Then are Non-Restricted which is basically everything else, and you can get them off the rack from Canadian Tire. .50 meme rifles fall squarely into the Non Restricted category because they're basically impossible to conceal, are super long, generally have low magazine limits, and often come in bolt-action.
But a wide variety of meme space guns that would trigger ASSAULT WEAPON in america are non-restricted here -- Tavors, PS90s, all kinds of stuff. All the Norinco AK clones, too.
