I'm also in the western USA (Arizona) and I also miss my cheap local lagers (Kraftig from Missouri, in my case, Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat also gets a shoutout even if it's heavier) but you're just being fucking stupid if you think that the craft brews we have access to aren't as good as cheap lagers. We may not have access to as many light and delicious thirst quenchers, but the craft breweries in our area blow cheap lagers out of the water.
Cheap lagers serve their purpose, and I drink more of them, but come on, craft brews are better than cheaper lagers. All of the "expensive" beer I buy is either local or from Colorado, specifically because of how tasty it is.
