We live in a kind of dream, or movie. This is self-evident due to the lack of universal context (i.e. perfect knowledge of reality, that which God is said to possess), for if the workings of physics were known and felt by us consciously there would be no disharmony, no suffering. A film or a dream is self-contained. The plot is a self-recursive, self-referential entity which exists because it is ultimately removed from the wider context of the universe, for a movie that does not differentiate itself from the grand totality of existence isn’t really a movie, more a history. If we were the writers of this epic plot we would be given free reign to author its contents. We would be able to construct a perfect reality for ourselves with no effort whatsoever. The very fact that being is defined by before-birth and after-death points to this being a fictitious plot and our lack of control over this fiction. The context is its lack of such.
