Alright, imma take some assumptions to get an estimate here but it must be done in the name of science!
There are roughly on average 800 kernels per ear of corn as the initial count. One bushel of corn is roughly 40-60 ears, but the average acvording to Wikipedia is 48, so i'll use that. The world produces about 1.68 billion bushels of corn yearly total, so if we multiply this out, we get 6.4512×10^13 kernels worldwide as a estimate.
Assuming the kernel simply "pops" instantaneously without and sort of heat reaction starting it, removing any external heat and radiation of heat calculations, leaving us with just kinetic energy and a tiny bit of friction. A single kernel releases about 135 psi from it's tiny volume in order to expand to popcorn state. This is roughly 93.1 N/cm^2 in SI units, which if we then decide to multiply out the area, then we'll get the force of:
93.1 N/cm^2×1.7 cm^2 = 158.27 N
Multiply this force with our kernel count and we get roughly a whopping:
1×10^26 N of force expelled as kinetic energy in a shockwave.
This is roughly 10000000 teratons, or 10,000 times more energy than that which wiped out the dinosaurs. We would die in a movie night so spectacular it destroys all life on Earth
